The Copper Mountain "Professors of Song":

Mark Selby
-- Mark's #1 hits include Kenny Wayne Shepherd's "Blue On Black", Billboard Magazine's 1998 Rock Track of the Year, and the Dixie Chicks' Grammy-winning "There's Your Trouble". Mark has also recorded a string of internationally-acclaimed blues/rock albums for the Vanguard and ZYX labels, and is well-known to Copper Mountain audiences for his performances at the Guitar Town and Copper Country festivals. Many of his songs are collaborations with his 'better half', Tia Sillers.

Tia Sillers
-- With dozens of cuts and hits by major artists to her credit, Tia is best known for the life-affirming anthem "I Hope You Dance", which was awarded a Grammy for Song of the Year, among countless other honors. The song has been performed at the White House and the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremonies, and a new version by Gladys Knight was featured in the Tyler Perry movie "The Family that Preys". Other recent hits from Tia include Alan Jackson's "That'd Be Allright" and Trisha Yearwood's "Heaven Heartache and the Power of Love".

Sonny LeMaire
-- As a member of the rock/pop (and later country) group Exile, Sonny toured with artists ranging from Aerosmith to Alabama, while penning many of the band's #1 songs, including "Super Love", "Gimme One More Chance", and "She's a Miracle". BMI's Songwriter of the Year in 1987, his song "When She Cries" for Restless Heart was Pop Song of the Year in 1993. Recent #1 hits include "Beautiful Mess" for Diamond Rio and "Fall" for Clay Walker (also a pop hit for Kimberly Locke), both written with frequent co-writer Clay Mills.

Clay Mills -- Clay's latest hit is Darius Rucker's "Don't Think I Don't Think About It", a number one song for the Hootie and the Blowfish frontman. Clay was a New York-based pop and jingle writer and producer before becoming one of Nashville' hottest songsmiths, with a string of hits that includes Diamond Rio's "Beautiful Mess", Andy Griggs' "She Thinks She Needs Me" and Trisha Yearwood's "Heaven Heartache and the Power of Love". Clay has also joined forces with Sonny LeMaire and Mark Selby to form the group Selby-Mills-LeMaire. The band will be performing at this year's Copper Country festival, and it's unique harmony-rich sound is featured on it's recently released first album, SML.
